Kas's eclectic education and a varied career (or one might simply call it a chequered past!) have included training in cartography and graphic design, and stints as a scientific illustrator and mapmaker.  The tools of the trade have changed -- pens and sheets of Letraset replaced by Photoshop ® and mapping software -- but the artistry and technical precision of the work continue to provide Kas with a satisfying creative outlet.  She produces the maps and illustrations for her own writings and presentations, and enjoys illustrating other people's projects too.
